After a long career in the corporate
world Barb has returned to art,
her first love. Barb attended
the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts
(now part of the Art Institute
of Chicago ) where she majored
in Interior Design.
In the medium of pen and ink
and watercolor Barb's application
of detail and brilliant color
produces a lifelike yet whimsical
look at nature's beauty.
Barb and her husband sailed
around the Caribbean for over
twenty years before settling on
St John and St Thomas. Barb uses
the marine environment and nature
as her inspiration. Her art is
a study in capturing nature's
display of intricate detail and
vibrant color.
Barb spends part of the year
at her Lake Michhigan area studio.
There she uses the beauty of the
lake and surrounding sand dunes
for inspiration. Her work has
been exhibited in various venues
in Long Beach, Indiana and New
Buffalo, Michigan which are all
beach towns that Chicagoans flock
to year-round.
