Beth Nilges-Nehamkin graduated
from the Cleveland Institute of
Art in 1976 where she studied
under Carroll Cassill who encouraged
his students to find and develop
their own style.
Beth's creates intuitively and
spontaneously. Her own inner dictates
guide her brush and pen, choosing
her color and form. She works
in oils, watercolors, pen and
ink, and polymer clay. Digitally
the computer enables her to develop
her visual ideas, her work growing
as she paints with light right
on the screen.
Annually
Beth and her husband spend time
at Maho Bay on St. John where
the hiking and snorkeling has
deeply inspired her. The strength
and mystery of the island culture,
and the intense tropical beauty
of this small island, is fully
reflected in her more recent art
works.
