About Laurie Moore McLeod

Laurie Moore McLeod was born in Fairfield County, Connecticut in 1973, As a young girl she began sketching and painting New England scenes under the instruction of her mother Shirley Stendahl-McLeod, a self-taught artist whose works are sold internationally.

Laurie began painting Caribbean scenes during her first viest to her mother's studio/houseboat in St. Thomas. while camping at Cinnamon Bay Campground on St. John, she was amazed by the color of the Caribbean Sea. in all of her paintings this richness of color is present. Laurie mainly uses water based oils and sometimes sand, water and shells from the USVI.

While still in Connecticut Laurie and her mother had a studio/gallery called The King & I, now they are involved in the Sarasota FL and St Thomas/St John art scene.
