Liz Ford arrived in St John in the US Virgin Islands with her family in 1991 after 51/2 years exploring the Caribbean aboard their 46 ft yawl "Castanet". While sailing, Liz and her family filmed and produced a video documenting their journey, the people they met and they places they visited.

Liz’s paintings are inspired by her visual experiences. She is interested in representing objects and scenes in an original perspective using color and simplified shapes and lines. She enjoys the process of painting and combines her color in unique ways. Natural and tropical, Liz's subject matter reflects her surroundings. Her artistic intent is to interpret her chosen scenes in a way that tweaks the imagination.

Liz Ford's works have been exhibited throughout the US Virgin Islands. In 1999 she received 2nd place in water media for “Lady and the Hat, in the prestigious Caribbean Color Art Show which is held annually on St Thomas. In 2000, she received the 1st place award for “The Beat Goes On“ in the same water media category. Currently Liz is enjoying painting large and loose watercolors
