Syzygy
has been through a lot of
changes since its inception
15 or so years ago
Artists have
come and gone but the gallery
has continued to grow and
now represents almost two
dozen local artists. The last
of the founding artists, Lisa
Crumrine, moved off island
in June of 07. Owner and principal
artist is now Barr who was
Lisa's friend & partner
at the Skinny Legs location.
Visit
the gallery and you will
find Barr working: creating
mixed media art works, pulling
prints, updating the site
(this site), hanging new
works or enjoying conversation
with the gallery's visitors
and artists.
Apart
from the unique and exciting
works of Barr you will have
the chance to see fine works
of art by other virgin island
resident artists such as
Liz Ford, Lisa Etre, Les
Anderson, Bryan McKinney,
Viki Brown, Aphrodite, Mandy
Thody and Annie Caswell. You will also be
able to find works by Lisa Crumrine, Moe
Kunsch, and Marie Lou Pichon
of St Barths.
The works
displayed represent such
media as oils, acrylics,
raku clayworks, collages,
limited edition prints,
watercolors, different
genres of locally made jewelry
and, as always, mosaics.
|
| The
art is not all confined within
the gallery; it starts there
but when the Caribbean breeze
is calm enough the art tumbles
out the doorway onto
the the deck where it
beckons the plaza guests.

Succumbing to the temptation to explore, the
visitor will find the gallery's interior wall
space bright and cheerful. Caribbean sunlight
shines through the many colorful sun catchers
and unique moving sculptures hanging in the
window and doorway, and the breeze moves through
bringing life to all the work displayed.
Syzygy Gallery
is a casual spot with great
art and friendly conversation.
During season it is open everyday
from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
The off season hours are a
little less predictable. (Contact
to verify hours) |
